Become a Junior Royalty Candidate

If you live in Hutchinson School District and are between 7 and 9 years old as of June the year of Water Carnival candidacy, you are eligible to become Water Carnival Junior Royalty!

Based on an initial interview session, six children – three girls and three boys - are chosen as Water Carnival Junior Royalty finalists.  These six children participate in many events throughout Water Carnival week including Pie in the Park, Boat Parade, the Miss Hutchinson Pageant, the Kiddy Day Parade, Junior Royalty Coronation and the Grande Day Parade.

As a Junior Royalty candidate you will …

• Have your picture taken and published in the Hutchinson Leader
• Participate in fun activities with other junior royalty candidates and make new friends
• Ride on the Junior Royalty Candidate float during the Water Carnival Grande Day Parade!
• If chosen, be crowned as Junior Queen and Junior Commodore and attend parades throughout the summer
