Water Carnival Seeks Nominations for Woman of the Year and Mr. Hutchinson

The Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival Committee is seeking nominations for Mr. Hutchinson and Woman of the Year. Nominees should be local residents who have made significant contributions to Hutchinson. Nomination forms are available at the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, CVB office or can be downloaded below. Nominations must be received by April 30, 2012. Completed forms or other information about nominees can be mailed to:

Submit a Design for the 2012 Water Carnival Button

The Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival Committee is seeking design submissions for the 2012 Water Carnival Button. The public is invited to submit their design ideas!

Designs may be designed with up to three colors along with black and/or white. Designs must include the following information:

70th Annual Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival, June 11-17, 2012

Size of the design is not restricted. The design must be reproducible on a button, approximately 2 inches in diameter. A $75 cash prize will be awarded to the creator of the winning design, $50 for the runner-up and $30 for third place.

Royal Family Summer Tour in Full Swing

The Water Carnival Royal Family – Queen Hannah, Princess Audrey, Junior Queen Grace, Junior Commodore Aidan, Commodore Nick and Vice Commodore Josh – is in full swing with it’s summer tour. Stops so far have included Glencoe, Spicer, Litchfield and Winthrop. Coming up are stops at the Minneapolis Aquatennial, Silver Lake and Cokato, to name a few.

Gehlen Named Vice Commodore

Josh Gehlen, an 8-year veteran of the Hutchinson Jaycees, was announced as Vice Commodore of the Water Carnival at the Coronation on Sunday June 19. Gehlen has chaired Jaycee events such as Comedy Night, Haunted House and has served as President. He has chaired Water Carnival events including Sporting Events, Parade, Finance and Publicity. Gehlen will succeed Commodore Nick Nelson after he has completed his reign in June 2012.
