5K Fun Run

This is a trail run/walk open to all individuals who want to get out, be active, and enjoy good weather for a good cause.

Kids ½ Mile Run

Everyone has a good bit of energy in the morning; this is a great way to get the kids up and moving and have fun. All kids ages 4-13 can run, walk, and have fun at this event.

The Course:   5k Run/Walk @ 8am; Kids Run @ 9:30

This event will run on the Luce Line Trail, starting at the edge of West River Park (on the trail close to the river). Heading east on the Luce Line Trail, continue all the way through Old Bass Pond Park, turning around and ending back where we started

The kids ½ Mile Run will start at the same location, run the trail along the back side of the sanctuary, and return to the start.

Registration:

Sign-in and goods pickup will take place Saturday morning at West Masonic River Park by the start of the course. Check-in time will start 6:30-7:30am.

Common Questions:

What is included in the cost? – T-shirt, bib, and post-race goodies

Can I walk the course? – YES! We welcome all walkers, runners, and everyone in the middle

Are strollers welcome? – Yes, however, the Luce Line Trail can be quite bumpy, and pavement is limited, so we request to keep it to single wide strollers only

Are headphones allowed? – Yes, all headphones or listening devices are allowed. We ask no speakers due to the respect for other participants

What if my kid (4-13) wants to run the 5K and the Kids 1/2? – There is an option during registration to select both races; however, the Kids’ race is set to start at 9:30, so depending on how fast their 5k time is, they might be late to the start

Is there a set end time? – We do ask that all participants plan to be done with the run/walk by 10:30 am, if you are still on course, you may finish, but the time may not be recorded

Is the run/walk timed? – The race will be timed, but no record will be kept. However, some prizes will be given.

What if there is bad weather? – If there is rain, depending on how bad if it can be safe to host the event, we still will. The backup route has been made if there is flooding; however, if the weather is too bad to run, the rain date would be Sunday, June 15th
