Hutchinson Jaycees are holding the second annual KIDS FIRST fun run, taking place Saturday June 20th. Hutchinson Jaycees are a volunteer group focused on raising money to give back to the kids within the community. This group hosts many events throughout the year to help raise money to be able to give back to the community area kids through sponsorships, donations, and events.

After May 21th: 5K: $25 Kids ½ Mile: $15

5K Fun Run
This is a run/walk open to all individuals who want to get out, be active and enjoy some good weather for a good cause.
Kids ½ Mile Run
Everyone has a good bit of energy in the morning, this is a great way to get the kids up and moving in the morning, and to have some fun with it. All kids are welcome between the ages of 4-13 to run, walk, and have some fun with this event.
The Course
5k Run/Walk @ 8am; Kids Run @ 9:30am
This event will run in an open-course style (on the sidewalk, with no roads closed). This 5K run/walk will start on the northeast corner of the Hutchinson Middle School. It will run north on the trail between the ball fields and cross Roberts to head clockwise around the school block. You will then turn right onto Dale Street to head back south on the block, then turn next at the corner of Dale and Grade Rd SW. You will run past the Middle School, turning right again at School Rd. You will circle around West Elementary School to get water and finish out the route, but continue along School Rd. turning right at Dale st. Then headed back down the trail you started the run on.
The kids’ ½-mile run will start on the north side (back side of Hutchinson Middle School). It will run north on the trail between the ball fields and return the same route. Providing the most opportunities for cheering on!
Registration: Sign in and goods pickup will take place Saturday morning at Hutchinson Middle School back of the west side of the parking lot by the start of the course. Check in time will start 7am for 5K; 9am for kids

What is included in the cost? – T-shirt, bib, post-race snack, and goodies
Can I walk the course? – YES! We welcome all walkers, runners, and everyone in the middle
Are strollers welcome? – Yes, pavement is limited so we request to keep it to single wide strollers only if possible.
Are headphones allowed? – Yes, all headphones or listening devices are allowed. We ask no speakers due to the respect for other participants
What if my kid (4-13) wants to run the 5K and the Kids 1/2? – There is an option during registration to select both races, however Kids race is set to start at 9:30 so depending how fast their 5k time is they might be late to the start
Is there a set end time? – We do ask that all participants plan to be done with the run/walk by 10:30am, if you are still on course, you may finish but the time may not be recorded
Is the run/walk timed? – The time of the run is recorded and visible to participants as they finish.
What if there is bad weather? – If there is rain depending how bad, if it can be safe to host the event we still will; however if weather is too bad to run, rain date would be Sunday June 21th
