The search is on for Junior Royalty candidates for the 2013 Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival.  A girl and boy will be chosen as successors to the 2013 reigning royalty, Junior Queen Tylee Plombon, daughter of Dustin and Traci Plombon, and Junior Commodore Sam Starke, son of Randy and Melissa Starke

The 71st annual celebration of the Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival runs June 10-16.  The Junior Royalty competition is open to girls and boys who will be between the ages of 7 and 9 years old the week of the Water Carnival, and must reside in the Hutchinson School District. Children who have won or been finalists are ineligible to interview a second time.

A registration form is available at the Culver’s, Dairy Queen and watercarnival.org.   A non-returnable photo taken within the last six months, preferably of the child alone, must accompany the registration form and needs to be returned by Saturday June 1st, 2013.

Judging will take place Saturday, June 8th at the Christ the King Church, 1040 South Grade Rd, in Hutchinson.  Royalty will be crowned at Library Square during ceremonies following the Kiddy Day Parade on Saturday, June 15th, 2013.   The parade is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

The new Junior Royalty will attend parades throughout the area during the upcoming year.  They will ride the Jaycee Water Carnival float, along with the 2013 Hutchinson Queen and Princess, while representing Hutchinson.
